The Judith Basin Conservation District is committed to promoting responsible stewardship of Montana’s natural resources through education, technical assistance, collaboration, and local leadership. We partner with our community to conserve soil, water, and wildlife, ensuring the long-term health and sustainability of our landscapes for future generations.

Our annual tree program offers high-quality, conservation-grade seedlings sourced from regional nurseries. These plantings support windbreaks, reduce erosion, and enhance habitat for wildlife and pollinators. Landowners can place advance orders or purchase available inventory during the spring season.

Any work within a perennial stream requires a 310 permit through the Conservation District. Our team works alongside Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks to review projects, conduct site visits, and ensure activities are completed in a way that protects stream health and maintains natural function.

We host workshops, field days, and community events focused on practical land and resource management. From supporting local producers to engaging students in natural resource education, our programs promote soil health, conservation awareness, and long-term stewardship across Judith Basin County.
